Country House Retreat combines the fun of a farm stay with modern and luxurious accommodation conveniently located just a short drive from Lakes Entrance and Metung. The spacious four-bedroom farmhouse sleeps up to 10 people comfortably so is perfect for large families, groups of friends or anyone just wanting more space than standard hotels and accommodation. The large outdoor entertainment area with wood-fire pizza oven, BBQ and fairy lights is the perfect place to gather around to share a meal and the outdoor hot tub is ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine or stargazing in the clear night skies.

– The Farmhouse –

Inside the house you’ll find plenty of room to relax and feel at home. There are four bedrooms and seven beds in total with two bathrooms including a stunning en suite to the master bedroom. The large modern kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm plus Delonghi kitchen gadgets and Expressi coffee pod machine to keep coffee fiends happy. You’ll find a selection of games and DVDs in the spacious lounge area for lazy days. The wood heater is lovely to crank up during the chilly months and the split system air conditioner / heater will keep you comfortable any time of year. The house is fully wheelchair accessible (view access statement) and pet friendly with an enclosed dog yard so your furry friends are also welcome to join you on holiday (view our pet policy).

– The Location –

Nungurner is a picturesque hamlet made of dairy and cattle farms in South East Gippsland. The nearest neighbours are the owners of Country House Retreat who live approximately 300 metres away on an adjacent farm. If you fancy a swim in the Gippsland lakes or a spot of fishing it’s only a five-minute drive to the water’s edge. As a guest of Country House Retreat you are welcome to use the private wooden jetty located just below our sister property, Jetty Road Retreat. The small beach area in Nungurner is calm and protected so ideal for swimming with young children and for enjoying watersports such as kayaking and stand up paddle-boarding. Metung is only a ten-minute drive away where you’ll find delightful cafes, the friendly Metung Hotel and a fabulous free water park for the kids to cool off on hot days plus you can stock up on basic provisions. Lakes Entrance is fifteen minutes away and has all the larger shops plus beaches that stretch for miles and some amazing fresh seafood, perfect for cooking up on the BBQ.

Booked out or not quite what you’re after? You may like to consider “The Folly”, a beautiful nearby property which we also manage. The Folly is a unique off-grid property, built in the style of a Canadian chalet with lots of character, set on 3 acres of rolling pastures. Bedding configuration: Bedroom 1 has queen size bed, plus ensuite bathroom, Bedroom 2 has double bed with single bunk up top, Bedroom 3 has king bed or 2 single beds, Bedroom 4 has double bed with single bunk up top.

Country House Retreat offers beautiful rural vistas to enjoy from every angle of the property. As part of a working farm, there are often cattle and sheep grazing around the property.

The large verandah and entertainment deck is the perfect place to relax. Enjoy the idyllic peacefulness of gentle rolling pastures and native bush that surrounds you.

The wood-fired pizza oven is a great way for families and friends to come together and enjoy a pizza feast under twinkling fairy lights as the sun sets.

The outdoor heated spa is perfect for year round relaxation. You can also share a story or two around the outdoor fire pit, under a blanket of stars.

The home also features an extensive collection of DVD’s, books and magazines to enjoy during your stay.
