Set on 100 hectares (250 acres) at the end of a peaceful valley, the Retreat is bordered on three sides by World Heritage National Park, assuring true peace and privacy.

For a honeymoon … or a romantic surprise for a birthday or anniversary … or just an escape from life’s hectic pace … this is the ideal relaxing getaway. Stroll along stunning fern-lined gullies, under giant strangler figs and 400-year-old rainforest trees. Lie in a hammock over a bubbling rainforest brook of pure, crystal-clear mountain water. Tamarind is made for easy wheelchair access.
During the last major renovations to Tamarind, one of the Creekside Spa Cabins, they decided to make wheelchair access easy. This cabin is entirely on one level, including both covered and open decks; there are no steps to the front door and its plan was already spacious and open – making it an ideal candidate for this treatment.

They widened and repositioned the doors and moved internal walls to make both the bedroom and main bathroom larger; the bed is easily accessed from all sides by wheelchair, and the double spa bath has ample wheelchair clearance around it. There is also a second marble bathroom which fully complies with accessibility guidelines. The entire floor plan is easily navigable and wheelchair-friendly.

The kitchen is spacious with maximal accessibility. Its microwave oven, used to heat any Delicious Dinners we’ve delivered, is beneath benchtop level, and there are no wall-mounted cabinets above the benchtop.
