Operating for 23 years, Platypus Park Country Retreat is situated on the edge of Bridport in North East Tasmania; around five minutes from Barnbougle Dunes. The 17-hectare property offers a stunning country wedding setting with gardens, sprawling lawns, and bed and breakfast accommodation for up to 25 people on site.
Platypus Park has a function room that can cater for up to 50 guests, and there’s plenty of space to host a marquee wedding for any number of guests. A peaceful space that perfectly captures the Tasmanian countryside, your wedding here will be relaxed and private.
Your hosts at Platypus Park will go out of their way to make their space suit you for your wedding. They’ll happily offer to assist with setup and be completely flexible in allowing you to make the Park your own.

Lavender Ensuite Room
An ensuite room with disabled access, is just right for an overnight stay. Comfortable room with all your basic needs, in a quiet location over looking the garden and with parking at your door. They will personally welcome you to ensure you are settled in comfortably.
Sofie the dog will take you for a guided walk to the river or farm dams, if you’re up to it, to try to spot a platypus.
The ensuite room has a full size fridge and microwave, limited crockery and cutlery, which lets you prepare basic meals. The tea and coffee making facilities are also in your room. The queen bed and single bed are comfortable for a short stay on the rural property. Electric room heating will keep you snuggly in winter.
Your bathroom is wheelchair friendly and meets the Australian standards. There are rails around the toilet and in the shower. They also provide an adjustable hand held shower and a shower stool for your convenience.
Through the entry to your ensuite room, you will see the laundry facilites which allows you to freshen up your holiday outfits.
Bridport Village is just a couple of minutes drive from your accommodation, where you will find a restaurant, hotels and shops servicing all your needs.
