High physical support refers to people with complex support needs that require wider access and may also need additional equipment such as hoists and assistive technology.
Participants who meet certain eligibility criteria and are assessed as needing a specialist housing solution as part of their supports will receive funding from the NDIA to cover the costs of SDA.
There are 5 levels of SDAs covered under the NDIS:
- Basic
- Improved liveability
- Fully accessible
- Robust
- High physical support
The U City Platinum Apartments are designed to meet the NDIA’s High Physical Support requirements and Liveable Housing Australia’s Platinum design level through incorporating state-of-the-art design features.
SDA funding covers accommodation component of your NDIS plan. Additional Supported Independent Living (SIL) costs are funded and assessed separately by the NDIS.
SDA housing is designed to cater for those that need a specialist housing solution and is not for all people with disability.
