Werribee Open Range Zoo is located 35 kilometres west of Melbourne’s city centre, on the Princes Freeway. It is a short 30-minute drive from the city over the Westgate Bridge or via the Geelong Road.

They are committed to ensuring they provide an accessible environment for all the visitors at Werribee Open Range Zoo. They achieve this in a variety of ways.

Discounts for carer and companion card-holders

Free entry for carers accompanying a person with a disability who is a holder of a Child Disability Allowance Health Care Card, a Disability Pension Card or a Companion Card.

Accessible parking

There are accessible parking bays near the main entrance of the Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Accessibility for wheelchairs and strollers

Werribee Open Range Zoo has an easy-to-follow pathway system, with access for people using wheelchairs and strollers.

A limited number of Baby Jogger strollers are available to hire.  Single strollers will be available for $17 for Zoo Members to hire and $20 for non-members. Double strollers will be available for $29.75 for Zoo Members to hire and $35 for non-members.

Accessible toilets

The accessible toilets are located at: the main entrance (near Ranger Kids)
the Meerkat Bistro, Safari Station

Accessible vehicle tours

They have four wheelchair-accessible Safari buses.

The Safari vehicles can accommodate two standard wheelchairs, or one electric wheelchair per vehicle. The wheelchairs are accommodated at the front of our vehicles alongside the driver and will be safely strapped in
